COMEGO Members and Other OBGYN Specialists Can Now Earn Continuing Medical Education Credits Using UpToDate

WALTHAM, Mass. — (August 21, 2012) — Wolters Kluwer Health announced today that members of the Colegio Mexicano de Especialistas en Ginecología y Obstetricia (COMEGO) and other OBGYN specialists can now earn CME for using their evidence-based clinical decision support system.

This is the first such agreement for UpToDate in Mexico. Dr. Luis G. Sentíes Cortina, President of COMEGO, said, “After our academic committee carefully reviewed UpToDate’s content, we were convinced that our members would benefit both from using the program in daily practice and as a way of earning CME.”

The Colegio Mexicano de Especialistas en Ginecología y Obstetricia (COMEGO) recognizes UpToDate as a provider of continuing medical education on the premise that consulting UpToDate content provides clinicians needed updates and knowledge for optimum clinical practice.

“We are proud that the Colegio Mexicano de Especialistas en Ginecología y Obstetricia (COMEGO) now recognizes UpToDate as a provider of continuing medical education. This will provide busy Ob/Gyns in Mexico an easy, reliable way to earn CME while they also use UpToDate to answer their clinical questions at the point of care. There is no better way to stay current than by putting new clinical knowledge immediately into practice with patients,” said Denise S. Basow, MD, President and Editor-in-Chief of UpToDate.

The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) and the Colegio Mexicano de Especialistas en Ginecología y Obstetricia (COMEGO) are among the 17 authorities worldwide that now allow their members to earn CME credits by using UpToDate. Earning CME credits is a free benefit for individual UpToDate subscribers.
