System requirements

UpToDate online requirements

UpToDate online is validated for use with the current versions of the following browsers:

• Internet Explorer
• FireFox
• Opera
• Safari

We recommend a connection speed of at least 56K. Cookies and JavaScript must be enabled (for further information, refer to your browser's Help or technical support facility).

Windows desktop requirements

• PC with a 500 MHz or greater Pentium-class processor.
• Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, or Vista.
• 256 MB of RAM or greater (512 MB recommended).
• 2.0 GB free hard drive space.
• CD drive (a DVD drive will be required for installing future releases of UpToDate).
• Monitor supporting 1024 X 768 or greater resolution with at least 256 colors.

Macintosh desktop requirements

• Apple Macintosh computer with an 800 MHz or greater processor.
• System OS 10.3 or later.
• 256 MB of RAM or greater (512 MB recommended).
• 2.0 GB free hard drive space.
• CD drive (a DVD drive will be required for installing future releases of UpToDate).
• Monitor supporting 1024 X 768 or greater resolution with at least 256 colors.

Pocket PC and Smartphone requirements

• A device running one of the following operating systems:
  • Windows Mobile 5 for Pocket PC or Smartphone
  • Windows Mobile 6 for Pocket PC or Smartphone
• Secure Digital (SD) memory card with 2 GB free space required for full installation (all program files, topics, graphics, and abstracts); 1 GB free space required for minimum installation (programs files and topics only).
• Windows-based PC running Windows 2000, XP, or Vista that is equipped with a DVD drive.
• Memory card reader that is compatible with your PC.

Palm requirements

• One of the following Palm devices:Treo 650, Treo 680, Treo 700p, Treo 700 w|wx, Treo 750, Treo 755p, Palm TX, or LifeDrive.

  LifeDrive users: You may install directly to the hard drive, in which case a memory card and card reader are not required.

• Secure Digital (SD) memory card with 2 GB free space required for full installation (all program files, topics, graphics, and abstracts); 1 GB free space required for minimum installation (program files and topics only).
• Windows-based PC with a DVD drive.
• Memory card reader that is compatible with your PC.
