To print a topic, click Print in the topic tools
area at the upper right.
The system displays a version of the topic that is formatted for
printing, along with the Print Options box, which allows you to select
the topic components that you want to print: text, references, graphics,
or any combination thereof. By default, the print-formatted view
includes all components. You can deselect any components that you do not
want to print.
You can then use your browser's print facility to print the
selected components.
Click and drag to select the text that you want to print, then
use your browser's print facility to print the selected portion of the
topic (typically by choosing an option such as "Selection" or "Print
Selection").
Click and drag to select the text
that you want to copy and copy the text using your browser's copy
function (typically through a menu item such as "Copy"). You can then
paste the text into the desired location.
To email a topic, click Email in the topic tools
are in the upper right. To email a graphic, click the Email
option at the top of a graphic view.
Email opens a dialog box in which you can specify address
information and e-mail options. You can keep the default message text or edit it,
as desired. If you are a clinician, you have the option to include a
complimentary guest pass for one recipient (this option is not available
for patient subscribers). When you have finished, click Send
to e-mail the individual graphic or the complete topic, including all graphics
and references.
To export a topic so that you can view it independently from UpToDate
online, click Print in the topic tools area
at the upper right to remove frames, then use your browser's save
facility to save the topic as an HTML file (typically
through a menu item such as "Save As").
To export a Medline abstract or a graphic image so that you can view it
independently from UpToDate online, display the abstract or graphic and
use your browser's save facility to save the abstract or graphic as an
HTML file (typically through a menu item such as "Save As").
