Printing and exporting from a desktop computer installation

Printing topics

To print a topic, including all graphics and references, click Print in the topic tools area at upper right to display a version of the topic that is formatted for printing, then select Print from the File menu.

Printing selected sections of text from topics

Drag the mouse to select the text that you want to print, then select Print from the File menu. The print dialogue window will appear, providing the option to print the selection by choosing the Selection option.

Copying and pasting text from topics

Drag the mouse to select the text that you want to copy and select Copy from the Edit menu. You can then paste the text into the desired location.

Exporting topics

To export a topic so that you can view it independently from the UpToDate application, click Print in the topic tools area at the upper right to remove frames, then select Save As from the File menu to save the topic as an HTML file.

Printing Medline abstracts and graphics

In the window in which a Medline abstract or a graphic image is displayed, select Print from the File menu to print the abstract or graphic.

Exporting Medline abstracts and graphics

To export a Medline abstract or a graphic image so that you can view it independently from the UpToDate application, select Save As from the File menu in the window in which the abstract or graphic is displayed to save the abstract or graphic as an HTML file.
