UpToDate includes a search feature that allows
you to quickly find graphics and related topics.
There are thousands of graphics in UpToDate that
included the following types: Pictures, Tables, Figures (illustrations and diagrams),
Graphs, Algorithms, and Movies.
At any search box, you can select the 'Graphics' content type in the
dropdown menu to have the search results show only graphics related
to your search term.
Once on the search results page, if you want to see only
graphics, click on the word Graphics to the left of the search results.
You can also click Adult, Pediatric or Patient to see topics prioritized
by that type.
Within the Graphics search results view, all relevant graphics are
shown in a thumbnail view. You can click on the graphic thumbnail or the
title below the thumbnail to see more details in the Graphics lightbox view.
Enterprise customers who have a Visual Dx subscription and who have
the integration turned on for their account will see a Visual Dx thumbnail
in their graphic search results for any search queries in which visual Dx has
relevant content. When the user clicks on the Visual Dx icon they will be
brought into the Visual Dx web site to view additional images.
Within the Graphics light box view, you are able to see a larger
view of the image as well as a list of topics where this graphic is
referenced. You can print, email or export this graphic from within
the light box. Click on 'Full view' to open the graphic in a new window.
Additionally, you can provide feedback on this graphic to UpToDate.
Under the 'Appears in Topics' section to the right of the graphic,
you can click on a title to open the topic. The topic will be scrolled to
the section of the topic in which the graphic first appears. The first link
to the graphic within the body of the topic will be highlighted for easy location.
To close the graphics light box, click the 'X' in the upper right or click
in the shaded area around the light box.
