Message from UpToDate's Vice President of Research
Dear Colleagues:
Over the past ten years, a group of immensely talented editors and authors have worked with dedication to produce the most comprehensive, accurate, and usable resource for state-of-the-art, evidence-based medical knowledge in existence. All of us know that real decisions are being made based upon our content, and thus we never compromise on quality. A particularly gratifying aspect of our work is that we have never received support from anyone but our subscribers, allowing us to minimize potential influence from commercial bias.
And now research is proving that this investment and unwillingness to compromise have paid off. In study after study, UpToDate has been the preferred and most commonly used clinical knowledge resource. Access to UpToDate allows us to answer more questions, change management, and improve decision-making. These effects reduce errors, improve patient safety, and shorten average hospital length of stay. This information has allowed us to demonstrate that making UpToDate available throughout a clinician community produces large savings and a high return on investment. Organizations involved in quality and patient safety have begun to take notice.
No one has a greater opportunity to improve care than those who do the caring.
