Conducting a Graphics SearchUpToDate is designed to help health care professionals find answers to clinical questions at the point of care. We have introduced a graphics search feature to help clinicians quickly and easily search our database of over 23,000 graphics.
When conducting a search on the main search page, you can enter your terms and filter your search results to only graphics using the drop down box OR after conducting a topic search, you can switch to a graphics search by clicking on the "Graphics" link on the left navigation. From there you will be presented with all graphics available in UpToDate related to your query. This includes pictures, radiographs, tables, figures, graphs, algorithms and movies. Your graphics search results will include thumbnail images with their titles. Click on the thumbnail to enlarge the image.
You have the option to export to PowerPoint, email, or print all graphics. If you find a graphic in UpToDate that you would like to use, simply select "Export to PowerPoint" . The graphic easily exports onto a slide, is fully referenced and is ready to use all with the click of a button.
You can also easily view topics related to the graphic. Click on the topic title to navigate to related topics. You will be brought to the section of the topic in which the Graphic appears. The Graphic link will be highlighted. Graphics are also embedded within topics and can be accessed by clicking on the hyperlink within the text or in the topic outline. You can also view all graphics associated with a topic by clicking on the graphics icon or a specific sections of graphics, like "figures" or "pictures".
